Best Tempo Hunter Deck Guide

Exploit every weakness. Delete every threat. Win in the mid-game.

Class: Hunter Playstyle: Exploit every weakness. Cards: 20

Tempo Hunter operates on momentum and burst precision — each Hunter card is built around exploiting target weaknesses and firing multi-hit abilities that delete individual cards before they can stabilise. The defining mechanic is Deadeye: guaranteed hit effects that bypass Shield and Barrier, making Hunters one of the best counters to Guardian and Angel decks. High-rarity Hunters serve as closers who can swing a losing fight back in your favour with one perfectly-timed ability. The archetype rewards players who read the board state and know when to commit to a burst sequence versus when to set up for the following turn.

Best for: Players who enjoy precision timing and punishing opponents' mistakes.

Mulligan & Game Plan

Mulligan Steps

  1. 1. Keep early-game Hunter cards (cost 1-3) to maintain tempo pressure.
  2. 2. Prioritise cards with Deadeye or multi-hit abilities — these define the burst identity.
  3. 3. Mulligan for a fast opening curve. Hands with 2+ cost-5+ cards are too slow.
  4. 4. Storm Shaman is the best opener — keep it if you see it.

Game Plan

  1. 1. Establish board presence on turns 1-3 with efficient low-cost Hunter cards.
  2. 2. Trade into opponent's high-value targets on turns 3-5 to set up burst windows.
  3. 3. Deploy high-rarity Hunters on turns 5-7 to burst-delete opponent's key threats.
  4. 4. In Arena, position early-game Hunters as sacrificial trades to set up your closers.
  5. 5. Play around Shield and Barrier by using Deadeye cards last in the sequence.
